The student movement Solidarity Student Committee (Studencki Komitet Solidarności), established in Poland in 1977, allegedly for the purpose of opposing the Communist dictatorship, was in fact entirely organized and controlled by the Communist authorities. Some members of this group made quite significant political careers.
