A new definition of what constitutes an incredibly bad choice.
The American Embassy in Warsaw informed in a statement released on June 30, 2014 that Jan Karski Freedom Award was given to KOR (Komitet Obrony Robotników, Workers Defense Committee).
"As the first widely recognized underground workers’ rights organization in Poland, KOR paved the way for Solidarity, and for the democratic changes that would later sweep all of Central and Eastern Europe."There are two possibilities.
1. The US Ambassador knows what he is doing.
2. The US Ambassador does not understand what he is doing.
